Converted from part of a Victorian residential terrace, in the 60s it was an ice cream parlour and coffee bar run by an Italian family.

When it underwent change of use to a pub it became known as the Boat & Anchor, later becoming Paige's Bar and Bar Breeze.

A total make-over by the current owner, Mark Knowles, has transformed this sea front bar into a modern meeting place with the benefit of a southerly view over the channel from its own veranda.
